Projects

Digital Mentor Community Project

Digital Mentor was a community empowerment project delivered across the East Kent and was jointly funded by the Shepway district Council and Kent County Council in South East England. The project was delivered through Kent Channel Chamber of Commerce during the 2011-2012 period. This included setting up of digital literacy hubs within various community centres within the East Kent Region. The technical evaluation, identification, setup, deployment and maintenance of upto 20 centres were handled successfully by the CLOUDSYS project delivery team during this period. The project delivery team was recognised by the Kent Channel Chamber of Commerce for meeting the strict timelines and funding guidelines during the delivery period.

Technical Helpdesk Lifecycle Management

This project involved recruiting, training and staffing a 24/7 Technical Services Helpdesk for a 500 member skills training project based in Dover, East Kent. The project involved site survey for IT insfrastructure planning within backbone deployment through to hardware integration and service delivery and continued maintenance. Successfully integrated a highly efficient, available HP blade server based thin client architecture with private cloud based datacenter as the core of the application delivery infrastructure. Was one of the first major thin client deployments on opensource software stack in the region. Successful training and full handover of the site was completed within the stipulated time by CLOUDSYS to the in-house Technical Services Helpdesk.

Other Transformation Projects

Inurance Experience Transformation for AA: One of the biggest motor vehicle insurers in Europe. This involved studying the changing on-road behaviours of young drivers: 18 to 24 year olds. A strategy to engage the technology driven young drivers by developing a driver monitoring and rewards system using mobile technology integration into the ecosystem was recommended. The pilot project was conceived, successfully demonstrated and deployed using the smartphone as a tracking and driver monitoring system for consenting clients. This recommendation has been adopted by the AA who currently use their in-house team to manage a host of services build along this direction to offer tracking based discounts on insurance premiums to responsible young drivers.
